Latchford Locks

Latchford Locks is a minor waterway feature on the Manchester Ship Canal. Latchford was selected to construct intermediate locks, consisting of a larger lock for ocean-going ships and a smaller one to the south for coasters, tugs, and barges. A mooring area for ships was also established on the canal's southern bank, allowing two large vessels to pass by each other at this location.
